Iceland is now in less than 6 weeks. SQUEE! (and yes, as a student pointed out, I am taking a vacation before my vacation, in this case sailing before Iceland, but really, when you teach English the only thing that keeps you sane is the knowledge that you get to take lots of vacations and travel. Seriously)
But we also talk about Australia and New Zealand, I want to do it on the bikes, Patrick wants to wit and do it with an RV and grandkids. We need to discuss this.
But I still enjoy it when I find RV insurance as I am searching for something else (in this case I was looking for insurance for the bikes for Iceland) and on 5th wheel insurance I found RV insurance instead. But I still think its a good sign when your partner says they want to keep traveling with grandchildren, it makes you believe them a little more when they say kids wont stop the travel lifestyle, just change it.
Dont hold your breath mother, Oma is pushing hard and we still have a year before our one year motorcycle trip, and then another year on the trip, and then and then and then…
But tomorrow we head to Berlin for a weekend of sailing, I just got this email:
We should be at the boat on Friday around 21:00. We spend the night on the boat, and head out into Greifswalder Bodden on Saturday morning. Return Sunday afternoon (will take the bridge at 17:00). Get to harbor about 1730, help clean the boat and at the train station by around 19:00.
And all Im thinking is Thursday and Monday in Berlin, and Saturday and Sunday sailing.
If you get a chance to watch The Cave Of The Yellow Dog I say go out and watch it now. If it doesn’t make you want to rush out and get horse tack and set yourself up for a ride around Mongolia, it will at the very least make you want to smile. There is no script, just a basic story line that they want to follow and then they follow a family around and that is the movie. And I cant say enough great stuff about it so just run out and watch it!
….…. is up and running! We finished the first post last night (outside of the welcome post) and we published it so that the world can read it at leisure. And since it is a joint effort between myself and the German there is to be no paid links over there. He did agree to let me put Amazon links on there for anything we decided to recommend travel wise, but otherwise it is to be strictly travel, and content we decide. But since he wants to blog with me I do not care!
So go check it out! Unleash Your Adventure
I think I need a tiny Brazilian baby dancing on my table tops. Oh wait, there is no way he would fit, because my tables are covered with books, papers, and (ahem blush) clothes. And not just the desks in the bedroom either, the entire apartment looks like it has imploded. We wanted to look at getting some decent office furniture supplies as more and more students are coming to my house. Im waiting for them to offer to pay me more so I can afford shelves or something to put this stuff somewhere. Time to hit ebay and sell off my stuff I think.
So I have an exam in less than 2 hours, I need to leave here in 30 minutes, and my plan was to do a final review. I have no idea what is wrong with me, put me anywhere else (including a coffee shop with an Internet connection) and I will work away faithfully at whatever it was I was suppose to do or that I wanted to do.
HOWEVER
leave me at home and I spend the time searching the internet for unlocked phones, as I think I will need/want one when we head off for the world trip next year. NEXT YEAR. The exam TODAY. As in 2 HOURS today.
Gadgets and procrastination, a match made in heaven.
I spent the weekend in Switzerland where the family spent the entire time telling me Ive lost weight and I look great. (Thank you thank you, pet me on the back), Ive topped Taekwondo up with Zumba classes (yes Ive jumped on that bandwagon, and its fun!), and Ive been eating healthy all week and only allowing the shoko binge on Friday nights.
Until yesterday, when all those compliments over the weekend went straight to me head and I decided to open that emergency box of brownies. It was not even an emergency, unless you count the fact my friend told me you need a lot of sugar to study.
sigh
Back to Taekwondo tonight, and I do find that when I exercise my sugar drive drops. Apparently within 3 days. (Thursday was my last physical activity, Friday I worked, had a presentation, and then we went directly to Switzerland). 3 days and watch me crumble (but I dare you to see the cookies disappear, that happens faster than the eye can follow).
I am a sweaty monster, I break a sweat breathing, and its not just because I am nervous or something, maybe because I am high strung in general, but I can be alone and calm and sweat buckets, or I can be in front of group without any problems (this is not consistent, and I can be in front of a group sweating buckets). bleeeeee and now that its summer I get to add scaly to the list, and break out the eczema treatments, because nothing says red broken skin like sweat and teaching.
