A friend asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I requested that they make me a CD. I am so out of touch with music in general, I live in bubble of English teaching, German classes, and desperate attempts to bruch up my math skills before diving into classes in October. And I am in LOVE with this song that he put on there. The whole world should know about this song. :P Mind you I dont have a TV so I lack exposure to ipod commericals.

…in fact I would argue that most of the time its a good thing. I get to miss out on all the things that suck you in and drain your time. But then you finally give in to a friend who has been insisting that you should watch True Blood and you then lose your next week seeking it out in all the teenie tiny corners of the internet, desperate for your fix as you watch hour after hour back to back.

sigh

In other news, 99% chance that we are moving (same city, only buying instead of renting). Which means I get a new table and chair set, because my chairs are also classroom chairs as I work from home almost as much as I go into a company to teach.

Hurray!

My best friend Tracey knew from the time that we were kids that she wanted to be a lawyer. Whereas I changed my mind every week she knew and worked towards it from high school on. Part of her devotion rubbed off on me, or at least arose my curiosity as to wither or not it may in fact be something for me. I did a certificate in criminology just to dip my toes into the water and 2 law courses later I realized that I would rather pluck my own eyes out than continue. But she did continue and flourished, and hasn’t looked back. If you are interested LSAT prep however you may want to follow the link.

I want to see this:

On Sunday we had our weekly visit to Oma, its a rare Sunday we miss this, as the woman is one smart (and tough) cookie who figured out a long time ago that I have little to no pride and can be easily bought with money or food. Maybe especailly food. And so she always has coffee and cake for us, and not any old cake but bee sting, which is my absolute FAV in the world.

mom and dad with it:

Think cake with 3 inches of cream (and its not cream, but its not custard, but rather some heavenly combination of the two) topped with almonds and drizzled in honey. HMMMMMMMMMMMM (I made a bet with my father that I would be down to 130 pounds by September without the aid of phenocal. Im now at that goal thanks to Takewondo, but I always wonder how much I set myself back with visits to Oma. She however has declared I have already lost too much and should in fact be eating more). ;-)

But since I am going into an agricultural based study, Oma has declared I must walk with her and she will teach me the name of plants in German (that the program is entirely in English means nothing to her). I wonder if she arranged this herself:
