May 2009

I just finished emailing a really good friend about having no time to do anything. I am in German class from 8 30 to 12 45 everyday, and then I work every evening. Plus after seeing the Cuba pictures I have made it my mission in life to shred the 15 pounds I gained in Germany (and more importantly keep it off). So the little bit of free time I do have I have been hitting the gym. (In three weeks I have dropped 10 pounds, but I have been hovering at 135 and if I thought the last 10 pounds were hard, the final 5 are IMPOSSIBLE. I even thought about the Colonix program until I read that review).

But as always I digress.

Point is, even if I had more time Im not so sure I wouldn’t spend it reading web comics.

I can’t beleive it is almost 12 am and when I think about it I have succeeded in doing absolutely nothing. But I have a giant list I need to get through and it just isn’t happening. The fact that I was internet less for a couple of days hardly helped. BUT those days were spent in Austria for the annual family motorcycle trip, and I do not regret a second! We rented a farm house, had this view:

The place was perfect, fully furnished, even with a ping pong table, a sauna, 3 bathrooms (with ten people that is very important) and patio sets, so we were able to bring our own food and drinks and not worry about noise or the other guests) AND we spent less the whole weekend than we normally do one night with beer. Which of course made me very happy.

Plus cute babies AND motorcycles:

Although the little one was not as impressed with my bike as he was Jannicks. His bigger brother however that Betty was just about the coolest thing ever:

All in all however I had an awesome weekend. TRYING to catch up on all those neglected emails! Alix, I succeed with yours!

….. at least I am not doing this:

This basically says let people off the train before getting on yourself. Yes they actually need a poster to point that out to people, and no, they do not listen to it.

I had heard and wrote about mesothelioma before. I was familiar with it, or so I thought. I thought it was a form of skin cancer. In fact it is a rare form of cancer caused by contact with asbestos (and apparently not so rare among people who have had that contact). I often ramble on about things I have no idea about, but I like to keep it to things that are not life threatening.

The newest episode is out, and this one does have the bridge of death in it! Watch they boys cross, and the awesome job Andi did editing out my cackles and shrieks!

The dolphin story is now up over on Journizer, those interested can find it here. The rest have to wait! I still have taxes and homework and lesson planning to do!

We’ve now been home for a week but my wordpress was so out of date it stopped working. And so now I have it fully updated I can start posting again. I am in the process of attempting to write up the individual stories from the trip over on Journizer, but I have found time is just being eaten at the moment. We got back Friday, (I was shattered as I am unable to sleep on planes ever) and then Monday I started my intensive German course at a new school. And it is far superior school to my last one, but with working all afternoon and spending all morning in class I am going to need more time to get all the stories up.

The wedding however was fantastic (even if all the much slimmer ladies made me want to reach for appetite suppressants, the good news is since being back Ive been hitting the gym with my free time (which means less time for internet stuff, but also less time for chocolate in face stuffing).

We did choose to spend our final week on scooter, and it was amazing. Cuba outside the resort was something I have wanted to experience for years, and I wasn’t disappointed. But more on all that to come!
