So now I run away again. I used my laptop battery while I was in the airport, and like the dummy I am I forgot to take an adapter for Canada. (I lost my Canadian cord, and now I only have a German one). My access to internet is really going to be sporadic for the next little bit as I dont go home until the 10th. And yes it seems to be official. Myself and my mother went shopping and even she made reference to me fitting all my new stuff into my suitcase for when I go “home.” So I will always have two homes, but Germany seems to be the one I have for myself, whereas Newfoundland is where my family is.
And on that note I will be spend the night with them. I did have plans to go to 3 parties, one in my hometown and two downtown. When Nicole came to visit me we even went out and bought fabulous dresses. But my fabulous dress is of the variety that I can wear in Cuba while celebrating my brother’s wedding (I only wish I had found it before we bought the bridesmaids dresses or I would wear it in the wedding party as well). But going out tonight means either finding a place to crash (ugh, Im in no mood) or waiting until 7 am for a cab to finally be available. I must be getting old, because instead having a few friends in to watch movies with my parents and cuddling down with an electric blanket (the German is in France skiing, so is unavailable for cuddling services) sounds so much more appealing to me. And the thought that spending new years with my parents is preferable than partying with my friends in a club, well, Im not sure what happened, or when it happened, but Im happy with it.

Merry Christmas (even if it is late) and Happy New year. I hope everyone’s holidays were awesome. Mine have been beyond fantastic. It has been so good to be home and see friends, my princess makes me want to kiss her all over all the time, and she almost makes me want my own. Almost.
Not ready for that plunge yet.
But I could wrap her up in stuff from forest and zoe, my aunt ordered her a catimini from there. The child is spoiled when it comes to her clothes and her shoes. I bought my own shoes and she wants my high heels!

So the good news is that I am home for Christmas! The reason I never revealed this before is because it was a surprise for my parents, and one that worked. They suspected nothing, and the only person who knew was my middle brother. The other would have let it slip, he would have tried his best, but he is just one of those people who in his best efforts to keep a secret might as well print it up on promotional products and give them away as freebies. So my internet pressence will be a little touch and go as my parents do not have internet!

(Yes I still say dude for random males whose names I dont know, despite it being one of the major no nos of the civilized world. Whatever, I have never been civilized.) But in class today we spoke about banking opportunities targeted at women (the bank I work for has a woman’s credit card that comes with handbag insurance. That resulted in a heated discussion. The women think its crap, the men think its brilliant). And so looking for a companion article I followed a link for small business opportunitys and under the various listings they list women’s businesses for sale. I am also interested in what constitutes “women’s” anything, and the first listing was on a pet return store.

This I am using in my classes this week. (It wont last a whole class, but its perfect for those 10 minute gaps at the end where everyone looks at you like you have 10 heads if you suggest giving up early, yet there is not near enough time to actually start something new). But an article delivered on my email program is all of two paragraphs long and perfect for just enough conversation without running over.
A recent MBA graduate can not find any business jobs and so had to take a job running a taxi instead. He has now posted his resume in the back of his cab in the hopes of getting work in his field. Apparently as of yet he has had no offers.

To explain the title from an earlier post, haus frau is what Nicole took to calling me while I was here. Namely because I have begun to cook. Though she fully apprecieated my never ending supply of food, (both for the fact that she was being fed without having to exert any energy, but also because it tasted good, or so she insisted), she thought it funny that before I would insist on restaurants, and now I insist on cooking because I enjoy it. Now I fully understand why my father (who is a trained cook and the chief of the family) would become so upset when we would come home late and all the food he prepared was cold, or we would try to insist we were on healthy supplements to lose weight like Orovo. When someone cooks for you, you should eat it on time and while its still hot. We put the effort in, and we did it because we like you, we are showing affection, eat the stuff when its at its best!
So much of a Haus frau that my big purchase in Hungary (for myself anyway) was a set of hand painted wine glasses, and I love them.

So my riding season is officially over! I know many people who will continue to ride right up until there are snow drifts, but as my grip heating is broken, and I myself am a wiener over the cold, she went back into Oma’s garage last night. She will live there until the Spring as we do not have a garage in our apartment building. She was parked outside the past month, and as I have yet to turn her on since the last week of October we figured now is a good of a time as any to retire her into her home. (Plus I bought the insurance online through a buy car insurance online site, which also covered bikes, and though she is covered completely through it, I also promised to store her inside during the winter. So at Oma’s she is!)
But last night we started looking into the possibilities of Iceland this summer, drawing up the budget etc. Which took some of the sting out of parking her.

Look Ma my feet dont touch!

If your a reader over on gypsy as well you know that my visitor was one of my sidekicks in high school, a master of mayhem, a firm believer in the sanctity of marriage in the hotels las vegas style. If you told us in high school that one day we would go to Budapest and Barcelona together we would have whooped with joy and contacted lawyers before hand to ensure that if we were arrested we had a jump on the game. Now a year shy of 30 we had two awesome weekends, but there was no swinging from poles and the closest we came to a run in with the police was when I tried to cross into a protest and I was spun around and sent the other way by the cops in riot gear. (close, but not really close enough). Instead it was a lot of shopping, exploring, and our shots have been replaced with wine. And early nights in bed.
As in before 12. Our university selfs would disown us at the moment! I wish I had access to a scanner to show you pics from high school and uni to compare this with!

My visitor went home in the wee hours of the morning. I like to beleive I am a gracious host, but at 4 am your getting a hug and a wave, I wont wait inside the airport with you to make sure you get through. But I think Nicole understood, she insisted on taking a cab to the airport, but I refused to let her. I dont mind getting you there that early, just dont expect me to stay there with you. I went back to bed.
But among the many things she bought she is bringing home a slew of things for her dog wiggles.

Wiggy is going to have a really good Christmas this year. And apparently he is not the only pet feeling the Santa love. My Canada.com news top news story for for Holiday guide is the priority pets have on their owners lists, with $38.4 BILLION spent on them. As in not all the years combined, but 2006 alone. (I dont know why they never gave the stats for 2007). Even for your horses and cattle! Seriously, I was sent a link for cattle supplies by a friend who works in agrifoods. BUT they offer Christmas gear for your horses and your cows. Honest.
See (and I know some horse owners who would go MAD for this):

Nicole heads back to Canada on Sunday morning (really insanely early Sunday morning, as in disgustingly so)
And so I shall return to the world of internet soon enough! I have not even wrote about Barcelona and Budapest over on Journizer let alone on the other blogs. But believe me despite an awesome time in Spain, and bright sunny days worthy of Wayfarer sunglasses, it was COLD! Newfoundland was warmer. It was like 5 degrees the entire weekend! I just need to hold out for my brother’s wedding for my next dose of sunshine AND hot weather together!
